I normally don’t cover club’s TT’s but always make an exception for my home club Ards CC’s first event of the season, this year’s a bit later due to former restrictions. A cold night which turned into a very wet one…Tailwind up and headwind (and a very wet one) in the way back for the later starters. Peter Mc Lean from the home club Ards CC won it just like he did last year…his time for the 10 miles was a very decent 21min 43 seconds, second was Luke Joyce (The Bikehouse Bangor) in 22min 56 sec and 3rd was Daniel Daly (Phoenix CC) in 23min 12 seconds. The first woman was Karen Hull (Phoenix CC) with a time of 26min 49sec beating Ard’s CC girl Chloe Deyermond’s time of 27min 33sec. A remarkable time was achieved from U 14 youth rider Karl Rocket (Ards CC) who managed a 27min 09sec with his restricted youth gearing and one to watch for the future. Also a big thank you to all the timekeepers and marshals to give up their night to get the show on the road
