Entrepreneur, and passionate cycling fanatic Barry Rogers (Co-Louth) have organised a fundraiser called the “Irish cyclo-cross support fund” to support continued development of the young riders (more training camps etc.) and providing opportunities to compete in suitably races outside of Ireland. This to help the small budget available at the moment!! We have the talent, but they need to get a chance to develop, this with more races abroad, which this fundraiser could provide…We at the BP fully endorse such efforts!!

My name is Barry Rogers, you may know me from the Bobble Hat stand at many of the cyclo-cross races in Ireland. I’m passionate about cycling and about cyclo-cross. For me it is a great pathway for young riders to enjoy this cycling discipline . I know that there is a hard-working group of volunteers who commit a lot of time into developing riders from Under 14s up to Under 23s. This group is supported by Cycling Ireland’s High Performance unit and has helped to improve the skills the riders have and also provided opportunities for the riders to gain experience racing outside of Ireland. The development group has a broad range of coaching backgrounds and experiences. The group, however, lacks the funds to fully realise their goal of continued development of the riders (more training camps etc.) and providing opportunities to compete in suitably races outside of Ireland. This is the purpose of this page. I’m hoping to encourage all those who have an interest in this sport and the development of the riders to chip into a fund that this development group can use to supplement any budget they get from the governing body. The fund will most likely be used to have more youth training and perhaps a multi day training camp in 2024, yours in sport Barry” Here the link to this great “GO FUND ME page” and highly recommended by us in the Belgian Project, as this could make a difference, and see our youth competing with the best in the world!! https://www.gofundme.com/f/cyclocross-cycling-ireland-off-road-commission-c , Dany B
