This two buggers came to meet me while I was taking some shots, crossing the road as they owned it…luckily the race was just passed as it would have been carnage …I got them back behind the fence and got them named after 2 troublemakers called Merkle and May

The trip to the Loop near Magherafelt is always a pleasant one and again didn’t disappoint this year for the East Tyrone GP promoted by East Tyrone CC and sponsored by KDM Hire and All Road vehicle parts. The Loop GAA facilities as headquarters which provide ample parking and welcomed showers for the riders and a big clubhouse where the winners were greeted with a feast of buns, more buns and hot soup and drinks. Many cyclists wives and mothers happy as their loved ones came home well fed and no cooking to do on Saturday for them. The spring sun was on duty and made the day even more pleasant for all involved. In the morning two youth races but very low entry this time but probably would have produced the same winners with a bigger field in each race.

Young Dunwoody now U14 was hard to beat last year in the U12’s cat and it seems Seth find the step up no problem ( Photo Sharon Mc Farland)

The afternoon started and ended with the Handicapped A2-A1 race, with the A4 race first to finish, soon followed by the A3’s & Juniors who had a full field and a solo winner. Lorraine Jeffers (photo below) from ETCC told us that a mobile phone was found after the race and to get in touch with the club to retrieve it….A great thank you to the East Tyrone club and his volunteers, commissaires and of course the riders for a good day racing
