Ronan and Cian Keogh, Team cyclotel, broke away from the break with 70km to go to set up the eventual outcome. However, Cian was unable to hold Ronan when he attacked again in the last 10km. Cian was able to hold off the chasers to solo to a fine 2nd with Dermot Trulock, Lucan leading in a small chasing group for 3rd.
