Kevin Mc Cambridge (NRPT-Chill-Vitus) 3rd overall and fastest junior (course record for juniors TBC) Seen here with his coach Bryan Mc Kinney

Last Sunday I briefly visit the Ernie Magwood Super 6 series situated on the carriageway to Portrush from Ballymena, and on my road to the Dunloy GP (see earlier report) Just to take some behind the scene shots and chat with some of the riders to get the latest gossip and sometimes facts..lol. Dry conditions and light winds made some fast times such as Marcus Christie’s 10 miles in 19:03 and overall winner, very close in second was Lindsay Watson with 19:04 and in 3rd Junior Kevin Mc Cambridge with a fabulous 19:27, this with restricted junior gearing, can you just imagine what he could do with senior gears next year!!! Kevin is ready for the World champs in Yorkshire in 2 weeks time…I could have not asked more of our 2019 Belgian Project graduate, and very proud of this young gentleman from Antrim. In the ladies section, Jane Wilkinson (Bann Wheelers) won with a good 23:47. With the veterans, Michael Reilly won with a 20:44. Well done to promoter Island Wheelers and David Heagney and time team, it keeps Ernie’s Magwood’s name alive and a great tribute to him

Well done Jane Wilkinson (the wee kiss before the race must have done wonders…lol)
