We just heard some terrible news coming from County Louth…the well-known racing family Sharkey lost this morning their wee beloved son Sean, a special boy who loved his cycling and supporting his dad Peter and sis Aoibhinn at the CX events. Loved his camping too, remember the stolen caravan last year and luckily found a few days later, as it was Sean’s little heaven. We all gonna miss him going around in his tri-cycle or on the back of his daddy’s tandem. I had personally a wee bond with Sean, he always insisted to his mum and dad to bring him to the Belgian Project gazebo, we had a seat reserved for the lad so he could watch the race and rest a bit…So sorry we won’t be having him anymore as our special guest, and my heart bleeds when I think of his mum, dad, and sister in such sad times…Rest in Peace Sean
Mum Fiona told social media this morning: This morning at dawn.. we… Fiona and Peter Sharkey and Aoibhinn lost the most important little man of our whole life’s just age 16..fly with the butterflies to the angel’s Sean Sharkey… Life is very very cruel…Septitis is cruel. We are totally devastated
