Lennard Kämna has won the 5th stage in Catalonia, the 3rd mountain stage, but now with a finish in the valley of the last climb. The German from BORA-Hansgrohe showed a solid solo after a spectacular ride. It was already the 3rd time this week that Lennard went on the attack. Third time for luck? Yes, Kämna soloed to victory and (finally) crowned his fighting spirit. The Ineos-Grenadiers missed the break of 40 riders, it seems that the whole peloton worked against them in a way and it was a matter of controlling and limiting the damage for the leading stars. They succeeded in this by coming in only 2 minutes down. Adam Yates (Ineos) remains leader, ahead of teammates Richie Porte and Geraint Thomas. Dan Martin felt much better today and it showed in his brilliant top 5 finish yesterday….we could see more of him today! (Top 25 results)
