First of all, thank you to Ciaran Mc Kenna for 6 years of giving his best to the federation…good luck in the future

The AGM today in Tralee could bring some positive changes to our sport…Normally I don’t miss such an opportunity to vote for people and nominations which I believe in, I always gonna support people who have a vision and try to make things better, unfortunately, I can not make the journey (6 hours each way) today, due to an early appointment in Fintona on Sunday (Omagh CX) as commentator, and that sort of driving is too much for me in one day…so the only way is promoting the people who I can call good friends as they have their hearts on their mouth… so if you attend today in Tralee…consider this gents here below…a wind of change is coming!! A thank you is in order for the outgoing board members and the president …good luck in the future

Liam Collins (Newcastle West Wheelers-Limerick) is now un-opposed as a candidate for the Presidency and should be voted in today! I know Liam personally due to working for him a few times in Knockaderry as MC and love his vision of modern racing with some basic “old school” unspoken understandings…An Irish Champion and international track rider who can identify himself with the grassroots of cycling…

For the board of directors, I am so pleased to see Carl Fullerton (Donegal Bay CC) on the list of 3 candidates for 2 places, Carl has been a supporter of the Belgian Project for more than a decade, and for the last 5 years a sponsor in kind, a man who makes his promises real, an honest businessman with a big heart for our beloved sport, he has a vast experience of cycling, a nose for talent and a transparent way of dealing with matters, something we would welcome for sure.

Another one for the board who could add to the future success of the federation is Philip Wade an engineer from Mullingar and father of Aaron Wade who races internationally and just joined Team U Cube 17 from France after a successful year with Powerhouse sport. Philip knows what a young rider wants, understands the going ones of the sport, and his wide range of experience as a cycling volunteer and parent of a racer could be an edge the board can use to move forward…Personally, Philip is a good friend, always looking forward to meeting him at the races, and our talks about how things could be changed…
