On a personal note: So pleased for Katie-George and Eve, they worked so hard over the last few years, they had to do this with limited resources, collecting Paralympic medals, and world championship medals on road, TT and track multiple times during this time. Taking a national TV award in a country where cycling is still a relatively small sport in the media world is amazing, and as para-cycling is even a smaller part in that matter, with very limited funds and resources!! Dedication, hardship and doing without at times can be rewarded!! I am very proud to know these girls personally, from us in the Belgian Project a big virtual kiss and a so well done to you both!!

“This is for any blind or partially sighted child aspiring to do something with their life, whether it’s a sport or not, believe in yourself and you can achieve, aim high and dream big”. Inspirational words from Katie-George Dunlevy

The award-winning girls are seen here with Neill Delahaye (coach) a man that deserves the spotlight too

Eve mc Crystal told her social media followers “That was unexpected!! Thank you @rtesport for the Team of The Year Award. To win this award is so special for us and for our whole team. I am privileged to be surrounded and work with phenomenal athletes who inspire me every single day. I am delighted that Para Sport has been given the recognition it deserves. I hope this award will inspire athletes of all abilities and disabilities and help drive cycling forward. We have so much potential to be the best in the World ?
Well done to all nominees every team was as deserving as us.
Huge Congratulations to @blackmorerachael RTÉ Sportsperson of the year”
