Patrick told us ” Hi Dany, the C1 event kicked off for Mia and Alice at 9.30 am on Sat. 21st Jan with Omnium, both girls rode strongly in qualifiers where they first competed in scratch out of a very strong field of 26 riders girls finished 11th and 13th. Team GB, Wales, Norway Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, France, Russia, Billerica Islands were all competing. The elimination race saw Mia and Alice bowing out after 7 others were eliminated. Points race saw both girls finish in the top 10. Their best performance over the 2 days was the Madison where both girls finished 5th out of a very strong field picking up 7 points finishing ahead of Team GB and France. It was an amazing performance where both girls looked strong, comfortable, their positional awareness was very good which will only improve their self-belief and confidence for future events. The event was very well run. The girls will travel to Valencia in 2 weeks for a 10-day training camp with their IBCT Team and racing in advance of the commencement of the Big road races in Late February in Belgium, kind regards, Patrick Griffin
