Bryan Mc Crystal and Bellurgan Wheeler’s spokesman told social media “We celebrated Sean Sharkey’s life today by riding bikes smiling and laughing. It was an honour to host this event for the Sharkey family. Our cycling family really came together today in what was a very emotional but happy day remembering Sean.
It was a hugely successful day with all proceeds going towards Sean’s respite center in Lordship, the Maria Goretti Foundation. The race raised a lot of money because we had very little expense. No prize money, no chips, and the guys working at this event all waved their fees all in support of the center.
Today we raised €3’382.
Our gofundme raised -€2’881 ( still open https://gofund.me/8f9ed670
Aoibhinns bakery -€212.10
Total raise €6’475.10
Phenomenal! Thank you to each and everyone one of you.
