The assignment for Primoz Roglic was simple beforehand. He had to do 27 seconds better than Thomas at the Slovenian border to still win the Giro.
From the first intermediate point, the strong Slovenian was on schedule! A much quicker bike change than his rival competitor already earned him a small bonus after 11 kilometers.
Second by second he rode away from Thomas, who had it hard today. Even a chain drop on a very steep section could rattle the leader of Jumbo-Visma.
Primos was good for the stage and overall victory for the massive crowd, most of them Slovenians, as the border only a few kms away. My heart goes out for Thomas, but also the joy of seeing the Yellow Dutch team getting the upper hand!!

Each rider has his own matrass, this has to be transported from Hotel to Hotel…massive drives each day, long hours, helping washing team cars and vans, ans sometime bottle duty too…the unsung hero’s…Wim was years ago here for the Tour of the North with the then called Decock-Capino, we became good friends...this 3 photos taken from Wim’s and Fluppe’s blog
