As the first days of spring beckon, cycling enthusiasts anticipate the warmth of racing days, and with great anticipation, the renowned Dornan Ras Mumhan announces its evolution into a 5-stage spectacle for the 2024 edition.
Race Director John Breen sheds light on the innovative transformation, stating, “As the region stirs from winter slumber on Good Friday, we are thrilled to unveil the expanded Dornan Ras Mumhan. Commencing with an 8km Team Time Trial and followed by a specially curated Road Stage on serene routes, this race promises an all-encompassing experience for riders and fans alike.”
Explaining the shift from Tralee, the opening stage host for the past two years, Breen expresses gratitude to the Tralee Manor West Club, assuring the return of Dornan Ras Mumhan to Tralee in the future.
The addition of the Team Time Trial aims for a balanced competition, ensuring minimal gaps among top contenders while spotlighting participating teams. Breen emphasizes, “This all-round course caters to diverse riders, aligning with the essence of teamwork integral to the sport.”
