Guillaume Martin (Cofidis) made a fruitful shot at the stage victory but was overtaken by a devastating Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) in the last hectometres. No one could answer the Slovenian’s explosion. He went untenable to his 3rd stage victory, but it was a long guess about the red jersey, was there a gap with Richard Carapaz (Ineos) or not? Yes, no, and then yes: the jury put the Ecuadorian on 3 seconds, so Roglic inherits the red. Carapaz is in the same second.
