A wee break after a very intense 2022 season (RR & CX) and a busy 2023 expected…I will be back end next week with my batteries re-loaded…Cycling will not be far away with a visit to the 2023 club championship of my old guest team Decock-Van Eyck-Van Mossel Devos Capoen (Peter hawkins started his full time carreer with them, and many others in the late tens) and always grateful to them. They are one of the top amateurs in Belgium, and hundreds of wins on their CV) The champs will also include “The Lead Out Cycling Academy EFC team” who are a development team and satelite team for Quick Step in the past …so high quality racing just before the classic’s start next week (Omloop het Volk & Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne ) Have also arranged a night with my old friends from my hometown Zeebrugge, catching up with my nieces after 40 years, and staying after in Wervik with my friends Ann and Mario as per usual. Also an oppertunity to meet some of my guest parents to discuss the summer part of the project…oh…nearly forgat…Belgian beer and food…lol
